Our Team

Laura Henry, Managing Director

Founder of The Childcare Consultancy, Laura is recognised as a leading authority on Early Years provision. She is a former teacher and Ofsted inspector and has over 20 years experience. A popular trainer and author, Laura has a passion for Early Years Foundation Stage and management policies. She is also a regular contributor to Nursery World and other trade publications.

Derek Hayes, Senior Consultant/Trainer

The Childcare Consultancy’s lead specialist on marketing and business projects, Derek has a wealth of senior management experience within the day care sector and related fields. He specialises in sustainability workshops for childminders, day care and out-of-school providers and has advised on a number of nursery start ups. Derek is a columnist for Nursery World and also edits INTOUCH magazine for Croydon Council.
